Schmeisser has expanded its AR platform range with the introduction of the new AR15 .22lr, a semi-automatic rimfire rifle that combines the familiar handling and ergonomics of the AR15 with the low recoil and affordable shooting characteristics of the .22lr cartridge.
Designed and manufactured in Germany, this rifle has been developed as a practical option for training, recreational shooting and sporting use, while maintaining the quality and engineering standards associated with Schmeisser.
Built around the original Schmeisser AR15 lower receiver, the AR15 .22lr retains compatibility with standard AR15 components and accessories. This allows shooters to configure the rifle to suit their individual requirements while benefiting from a purpose-built rimfire operating system.
The rifle uses the proven Black Dog magazine system, a well-established choice within the AR15 .22lr market thanks to its robust construction and reliable feeding performance.
All barrel lengths (12.5″, 14.5″, 16.5′, and 18″) are supplied factory threaded with the industry-standard 1/2″ x 28 AR muzzle thread. This enables users to fit a wide range of compatible muzzle devices, moderators and other accessories.
With inexpensive ammunition and minimal recoil, the .22lr chambering makes the rifle well suited to extended training sessions while still delivering the familiar feel of the AR15 platform.
Available in black, bronze, Cerakote ODG, Cerakote FDE, and Cerakote Grey, the Schmeisser AR15 .22lr offers shooters an economical and highly capable rimfire rifle that remains true to the handling characteristics of its centrefire counterpart.
