The new 457 LRP rifle from CZ has been built for shooters who wish shoot .22LR cartridges over long distances (the LRP in the name stands for Long Range Precision).
Founded in Czechoslovakia, Česká zbrojovka (or CZ as they are commonly referred to) have been manufacturing firearms since 1936. Starting with the production of aircraft machine guns, CZ have continually manufactured a range of weapons to high standards.
The 457 LRP is no different, it has a supremely-accurate 20” fluted varmint barrel with a threaded muzzle (1/2×20 UNF) that comes with a muzzle brake as standard.
The stock is set up for long distance shooting: there is a rear hook designed to cradle the shooter’s support hand or a rear mooned can fitted to the rail at the toe of the stock if desired, the forend has been extended, the pistol grip is rather prominent, all grip surfaces have been textured and the entire stock has a soft-touch finish.
Another great feature of the LRP’s stock is the amount it can be adjusted; the length of pull can be changed with three spacers (351-382mm) and the hight of the comb and the butted can also be configured by the shooter.
The LRP comes with a 25 MOA Weaver-stlye rail with built in inclination to enable sighting in at longer distances, an oversized bolt knob and a 5 round magazine.
This really does look to be a great rifle for pushing the small .22lr round out to long distances.
