The new Modern Precision Rifle Rimfire by Christensen Arms combines the feature-rich function of a chassis rifle with the accuracy of a carbon fibre tension barrel. This rifle has been designed to be ready for anything, whether plinking at the range, hunting small game or pests, or shooting in a long-range rimfire competition.
The Chassis
Based on the Modern Precision Rifle centrefire version, this rimfire rifle has a lightweight 7075 billet aluminium chassis with a folding stock (which stays in the folded position thanks to the MAGNELOCKTM technology) and v-block bedding. The length-of-pull is adjustable from 12.5 inches to 14.5 inches, and the FFTTM carbon fibre cheek riser has 1 inch of adjustability. FFTTM carbon fibre is also used in the handguard (available lengths are 10 inches and 14.5 inches) with M- LOK® mounting points for direct accessory attachment. The AR-compatable grips can be swapped out for others on the market with the same compatibility. There are also 6 QD mounts and it is monopod picatinny mount ready. The chassis is available in three different colour options: Tungsten Cerakote, Desert Brown, and Black Anodized.
The Action
The receiver is precision machined aluminium, and the bolt has dual extractors and dual opposing locking lugs. The trigger is from Triggertech and is Remington 700 compatible. Christensen arms have opted to use Ruger BX-1 magazines for this rifle, and it comes fitted with a 0-MOA optic rail. The Modern Precision Rifle Rimfire is available in .22LR, .22WMR, and .17HMR, and Christensen Arms guarantees sub-MOA accuracy at 50 yards.
The Barrel
The carbon fibre tension barrel is precision lapped and button rifled. The muzzle has a 1/2×28 (standard) thread allowing you to fit a moderator. All three chamberings are available with either 16 inch, 18 inch, or 20 inch barrels with a twist rate of 1:16 for .22LR; 1:9 for .17HMR; and 1:14 for .22WMR.
