Pulsar N450/N455 LRF – New Digital NV Rangefinding Scopes

Yukon Advanced Optics Worldwide have developed new digital night vision rifle scopes that have built-in laser rangefinders, the Pulsar Digisight Ultra N450 and N455 LRF.

In 1998 Yukon Advanced Optics Worldwide was founded by a group of friends with a shared passion for special optics. Today the company has grown considerably in size to over 1,000 employees and develops and produces: thermal vision equipment, digital night vision devices/recording systems, tube based night vision devices, laser range finders, day optics, and thermal and digital OEM-modules.

The N450 and N455 LRF are based on the already existing N450 and N455 models, however these have the addition of a laser rangefinder that have an accuracy of ±1 meter.

The N455 LRF comes with a 940nm infrared LED flashlight which is “invisible” and can not be spotted when switched on. The N450 LRF is equipped with the long-range 850nm infrared LED flashlight fitted (this often shows up a red glow). The HD CMOS array (1280×720 pixel) has a high sensitivity in the infrared waveband. In passive mode, without the IR flashlight, the Digisight works effectively in deep twilight and often at night.

The housing of the scope has been upgraded to magnesium alloy thereby giving it better shock and vibration protection (which is necessary for larger calibers), and making it more resilient to direct temperatures and chemicals. The heat product by the unit is conducted away from the electronics more efficiently which also makes the scope more stable and reliable.

The magnification ranges from 4.5x to 18x and have the “picture in picture” function just like the older models that do not come with the built in laser rangefinder.

Again, like the older models the new LRF range can record video clips with sound and take photos, both of which are saved to the internal memory. It can also connect to a smartphone or tablet via Wi-Fi with the Stream Vision app. This app can also be used to start or stop video recording, control the image settings, set magnification, control the IR flashlight, stream videos to Youtube and update the scope’s firmware.

The scopes are waterproof (they can be fully submerged in water), come with more than 10 various reticles, including scaled ones and just like before they have a number of zeroing profiles.
