J. P. Sauer and Sohn have unveiled two new model variants of the popular range of 101 rifles for 2023: the S 101 Highland XTA and the S 101 Elegance.
Sauer is the oldest manufacturer of hunting firearms in Germany. For 270 years it has been making guns with uncompromising quality, the utmost precision, and timeless beauty. The Sauer 101 bolt action rifle was initially launched in 2013 in two variants: the Classic and the Classic XT. Over the past ten years more model variants have been added to the lineup, bringing the total to ten, including the latest two additions.
S 101 Highland XTA
The Sauer 101 Highland XTA is probably the most robust and versatile rifle in the S 101 line-up. This is the rifle to choose if you are going to be putting it through its paces without wanting to worry about damaging it. The black ERGO MAX polymer stock is particularly robust and weather resistant and the a soft touch coating provides unparalleled grip in any conditions. The housing and the barrel surfaces have a DLC (diamond-like coating) to ensure maximum protection and thanks to this coating they will require the minimum of upkeep.
You can set this rifle up to suit you with the height-adjustable comb (a fantastic feature that is not included on enough rifle stocks from the factory). The fluted barrel and bolt not only give the rifle an unusual look but help to reduce the overall weight, which comes in at just 3,000 grams. Thanks to the lightweight and the tough nature of this rifle it is the perfect companion for active hunters who stalk deer in the hills of Scotland, mountainous regions or in other tough conditions but who don’t want to compromise on the comfort of a Sauer rifle.

S 101 Elegance
The Sauer 101 Elegance is the rifle for shooters who love a wooden stock. This is an elegant bolt-action rifle with a wooden stock made from fine, grade 4 walnut. It has all the features that characterise the S 101 series, including: the DURA SAFE firing pin safety system, the EVER REST system bedding, a cold hammered precision barrel, and a comfortable direct trigger with a trigger pull weight of 950grams. In contrast to the standard model, it has an M15x1 muzzle thread.
Not only does this rifle come with all of the standard features that you would expect from Sauer, but it also has a jewelled bolt, a black aluminium bolt-handle ball, and a red recoil pad. The S 101 Elegance does also come with the option of an adjustable comb.
