The Sako 100 is the latest premium switch-caliber hunting rifle family from the leading Finnish rifle manufacturer Sako. It has been designed and crafted to celebrate the rifle manufacturer’s 100th anniversary.
The release of the flagship rifle marks the end of the year of Sako’s anniversary year. Mr. Raimo Karjalainen, General Manager of Sako Ltd., describes the moment: “The historic 100th anniversary comes to an end at the end of March, when it is time to move on to a new 100-year period and what’s more wonderful than releasing a new hunting rifle family, SAKO 100, to promote the transition to the next 100-year term. The new Sako 100 rifle family contains new and unprecedented features that Sako firearms have not previously had. I would like to wish all our customers great experiences with the new rifle family in their hunting hobby”.
The new product family is built on Sako’s acclaimed switch-caliber expertise from the iconic Sako TRG family and Sako Quad rimfire line. The key feature of multipurpose design is the option to switch between calibers, making the rifle a versatile tool for different game and conditions.
The design of Sako 100 pays homage to the traditional characteristics of the classic Sako hunting rifles, but also gives hints of what’s to come in the future. The rifle comes in two distinct looks: the classic Sako 100 Explorer Wood which honours the 100 years of traditional craftsmanship with a modern twist, and the dynamic Sako 100 Explorer Carbon, the rifle of choice for those looking for light-weight solution. To make the rifle truly your own, you can customise it with the full line of premium rifle accessories.
All the materials and coatings of the Sako 100 are carefully chosen to reflect the premium nature of the rifle. The frame and the barrel of the rifle are coated with Cerakote Elite, an extremely thin, technical ceramic coating giving ultimate protection against the elements. The world-renowned Sako bolts have also been taken to the next level with a new diamond-like coating which results in extremely durable and smooth surfaces that significantly increase the resistance against wear and weather. A notable detail of the rifle is the barrel mounted scope that enables fast out-of-the-case accuracy, a feature appreciated by a travelling hunter.
The Sako 100 has been designed to be as adaptable as the hunter carrying it: the rifle can be adjusted to fit different body shapes, shooting positions, and hunting styles. It sports an adjustable trigger position with easy-to-use interface and the weight of pull can be adjusted from 1 to 6, 750g – 1750g. The range for weight of pull allows most users to find their preference in each situation and re-adjustment can be done easily without any disassembly. The Sako 100 comes equipped with manual cocking.
At launch, the rifle comes in .243 Win, .308 Win, 6.5 CM, 6.5×55 SE, .270 Win, 30-06 Sprg, 8x57IS, 9.3×62, 7mm Rem Mag, .300Win Mag, and .375 H&H calibers. Sako 100 products will be available at local dealers globally during Q4 2022.
