The CRX9 Skeet over-and-under shotgun by Fossari embodies a harmonious fusion of precision engineering and shooter-centric design, shaped with insights from accomplished international skeet shooters.
Designed with optimisation of comfort and ease of shouldering in mind, this shotgun showcases meticulously crafted wood. Its barrels, featuring the XBORES and X-CONES® system, come in two lengths: 26 inches and 28 inches, and are equipped with fixed chokes for exceptional ballistic performance.
A defining hallmark of Fossari’s craftsmanship is the monolithic action frame, painstakingly carved from a single piece of steel through a 5-axis CNC process. This sturdy foundation is reinforced by oversized locking bolts placed on the barrel’s centre line, ensuring enduring and secure lockup over time. Essential components of the shotgun are meticulously made from forged blocks, further enhancing durability and reliability.
Fossari’s commitment to longevity is demonstrated by the incorporation of interchangeable hinge pins in their models, bolstering serviceability over the shotgun’s lifetime. Action bodies, trigger plates, fore-end iron, and extractors are all precision-milled from forged ingots, emphasising craftsmanship and strength.
The barrels are crafted from special tri-alloy steel, utilising the traditional bar drilling method to guarantee both concentricity and robustness. The lengthy X-CONES® forcing cones in the chambers complement the internal drilling, orchestrated by the innovative XBORES geometry, enhancing recoil management. Internally, the barrels are fully chromed, ensuring resilience against wear, corrosion resistance, and delivering consistent shot patterns.
The CRX9 Skeet features an easily removable trigger mechanism, a tool-free operation achieved by a conveniently located release button on the upper part of the trigger unit. This simplification not only presents a technical advantage but also streamlines maintenance procedures.
Furthermore, Fossari’s shotguns are equipped with interchangeable inserts in the breech, constructed from hardened and chromed steel. This design ensures exceptional durability, defending against both wear and the corrosive effects of ammunition gases.
To complete the shotgun’s package, the iron fore-end boasts numbered interchangeable inserts crafted from special steel. These inserts enable precise adjustments at the support point between the barrel tenon and the iron fore-end, effectively addressing any tolerances that may arise from extended usage.
