AYA Nº 4/53
The AYA Nº 4/53 side-by-side boxlock stands as a testament to Spanish gunmaking heritage, having graced the market since 1960.
Drawing inspiration from the renowned Westley Richards boxlock action, introduced to Spain by the King brothers, the Nº 4/53 embraces a mechanically straightforward design. This simplicity ensures it not only endures but also remains dependable and easily serviceable. Its robustness is fortified by a Purdey double underbolt locking system.
At an approximate weight of 6 pounds and 10 ounces, this double-trigger boxlock features standard fixed-choke 28-inch chopper lump barrels, though alternative lengths can be ordered.
This hammerless boxlock ejector shotgun boasts a host of distinctive attributes. Employing a double locking mechanism with a replaceable hinge pin, it’s equipped with disc-set firing pins. It features a double trigger, with the option for selective or non-selective triggers. Adorned with light scroll engraving, it features an automatic safety mechanism and possesses a split bottom plate. The shotgun showcases a straight-hand, oil-finished walnut stock of grade 2, embellished with an initial oval. Available in colour-hardened, old silver, or white finish, it’s offered in 12, 16, 20, 28, and .410 bore variants.
