AYA Nº 1
The AYA Nº 1 side-by-side shotgun originated in the 1950s and embodies the essence of a premier English game gun.
This meticulously handcrafted double-trigger sidelock caters expressly to British preferences, presenting an affordable alternative to its London-made counterparts.
Weighing around 6¾lb, AYA’s Nº 1 closely emulates the classic Holland & Holland design. It features detachable locks, an articulated front trigger, and an optional self-opener. The Nº 1 is adorned with the timeless Purdey-style rose-and-scroll engraving and is furnished with top-grade walnut. The double-trigger sidelock is equipped with fixed-choke 28in chopper lump barrels as standard, although other lengths are available upon request.
This hammerless sidelock shotgun features a forged steel action with a double locking mechanism and gas vents, ensuring steadfast performance. It incorporates hardened steel intercepting safety sears, along with gold-washed internal lock parts and gold-lined cocking indicators for added refinement.
The Nº 1 provides the option of a double trigger with a hinged front trigger, along with the choice of a selective or non-selective trigger. Its rib is gently concave, adding to its distinctive profile.
Crafted with care from chopper lump chrome nickel steel, the barrels reflect AYA’s commitment to quality. The wood grade is designated as 1, showcasing the gunmaker’s dedication to excellence.
The Nº 1 is further enriched with intricate rose and scroll engraving, a testament to the artistry of its craftsmanship. An initial oval allows for personalisation, and the firearm includes an automatic safety feature.
Buyers can select from various finishes, including colour-hardened, old silver, or white, allowing for a touch of individuality.
The Nº 1 is available in a range of bores, catering to diverse shooting preferences, including 12, 16, 20, 28, and .410. This ensures a fitting choice for shooters with a spectrum of tastes and requirements.
