The Haenel HLR bolt action rifle is for long-range shooting “out of the box” without the need to experiment.
This new precision rifle from Haenel combines superior long-range qualities with a modular concept and a significant weight reduction compared to the RS8 and RS9 (a sniper rifle system specially developed for police and military use). The HLR meets the needs of sport shooters and also the demands of professionals.
Most long-range shooters will build a precision rifle using a standard rifle and accessory components, however this can quickly become expensive and complex. However, the Haenel HLR is ready for long-range shooting “out of the box”.
All HLR models have an adjustable two-stage trigger with a trigger pull weight of 10 to 20 N (equivalent to approximately 1.0 to 2.0 kg), a 3-stage firing pin safety to prevent accidental firing and are supplied with a 10-round magazine.
Haenel manufacture the cold forged match barrel itself. It has a 22mm diameter and an M18x1.5 muzzle thread for either muzzle brake or suppressor. The Picatinny rail and M-LOK interfaces on the handguard around the barrel offer multiple points to mount scopes and other accessories.
Manageable, lighter, tool-free
The HLR is reminiscent of the RS8 and RS9 rifle systems in its design and tool-free handling, however, clever product management has made it possible to shave the weight down by approximately one kilogram. The lightest HLR in the range is the Basic Compact in .308 which weighs 4.7kg, whilst the heaviest is the Pro in .338 weighing in at approximately 6.8kg (without accessories).
