Farlows’ new AW23 fieldwear collection is driven by innovation – something that has been part of the company’s DNA since it was founded in 1840 (Charles Farlow had 14 patents to his name).
Farlows believes that, as a company, it is responsible for achieving the highest standards of environmental practice and for operating in a sustainable manner. In 2022 the Farlows Group Ltd (which owns Farlows) received Planet Mark Business Certification (an internationally recognised sustainability certificate for businesses acknowledging continuous progress and encouraging action). Farlows is committed to reducing its carbon footprint by 5% annually – something that was very much in mind with the AW23 collection where, with the exception of a few pieces that are made in Europe, care has been taken to select the very best craftsmen and suppliers in England and Scotland.
Farlows AW23 Fielder Collection
Farlows strives to create only the best garments, accessories, and fabrics. Scottish tweeds are at the heart of the collection. The ‘original performance fabric’ has been brought into the 21st century with up-to-date and practical designs, sustainable production practises, and Teflon finishes to provide an addition layer of water repellency.
Two different grades of loden and a variety of cottons have also been used throughout the collection. Loden is made from 100% wool and is very close in nature to tweed in terms of its core purpose and properties. Farlows use one of the oldest loden mills in the world which is based in the same country loden originated from, Austria. For the cottons in this collection Farlows headed to Dundee, Scotland and used one of the best cotton mills around.
A number of new garments have been featured in the Farlows AW23 fieldwear collection, such as the new Fairford and Glencoe field coats for men; the Sloane and Hampton coats for ladies; and the new sporting tweeds and lodens for both men and ladies. Farlows have also developed its much loved knitwear collections, and have included an array of accessories to compliment all aspects of country life.
