The new CZ 457 CARBON is CZ’s first firearm that comes with a carbon fibre wrapped barrel. It is the lightest 22LR rimfire rifle from the 457 series to date, and yet it has the accuracy usually associated with the varmint models.
The CZ 457 series of rimfire rifles have a push-to-fire safety on the right side of the receiver, a separator bolt extractor control, and a striker status indicator. The trigger is adjustable and the striker is noticeably lighter than the previous models, and the bedding type is new too.
The key feature of the CZ 457 CARBON is the composite barrel which combines the best characteristics of steel and carbon fibre. The barrel is a heavy profile, cold hammer forged barrel with a match chamber. It has been wrapped in carbon fibre to not only significantly reduce the weight (the overall weight of the rifle is only 2.15kg, 350 grams lighter than the next lightest rifle in the 457 series), but also dissipates the heat more efficiently during long shooting sessions, and vibrates less after each shot.
The ergonomic polymer stock has been finished with a soft-touch camouflage pattern, and the metal components have a highly durable anti-corrosion finish, making this rifle ideal for hunting.
