Benelli Lupo Wood Rifle

In 2020 Benelli released its first ever bolt action rifle, the Lupo, and now this award winning rifle is available with a premium wooden stock.

Whilst Benelli is well known for its shotguns, it has been producing the Argo semi-automatic rifle for a number of years, however this is its first foray into the world of bolt action rifles. The Lupo (which translates to “wolf” from Italian) was launched to great acclaim at the SHOT show in the USA in 2020. It has received much praise for its accuracy, excellent trigger pulls, build quality, and unique innovations (it featured seven Benelli patents).

The Benelli Lupo Wood Stock

The Benelli Lupo Wood has an extremely ergonomic design and guarantees absolute modularity that can be adapted to your build. The rifle comes with two different recoil pads and spacers which can easily be changed to give you 6 different length-of-pull configurations from a minimum of 350mm to a maximum of 385mm.

The AA-grade walnut stock has a Monte Carlo profile with a raised comb that ensures correct support of the cheek and the perfect alignment for a scope. Should require the trigger reach to adjusted, the rifle comes with a 1mm spacer to allow you to fine tune this distance. You can further adjust the stock to get the perfect fit in this area – the rifle has 4 drop shims with 3 cast positions (neutral, right, and left) giving you a total of 12 different positions.

The stock has even more functionality than just adjustments listed above. It comes with integrated features such as the Progressive Comfort recoil reduction system to mitigate felt recoil and muzzle flip, and AirTouch Grip surfaces along the forend and grip to provide a solid grip in all weather conditions.

The Barrel and Receiver

The Lupo Wood is capable of delivering sub-MOA accuracy. The Crio-treated free-floating barrel is combined with a hardened steel barrel extension bedded to a steel block within an alloy receiver to deliver a precise and repeatable point-of-impact. The upper receiver is made from rigid steel whilst the lower receiver is made from aluminium, which gives the Lupo Wood absolute structural rigidity.

The barrel and receiver have the field-proven BE.S.T (Benelli Surface Treatment). BE.S.T. is a new proprietary finishing technology developed by engineers and scientists at Benelli’s manufacturing headquarters in Urbino, Italy. It is a hybrid Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) and Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition (PECVD) technology that applies a protective coating to parts. This coating provides corrosion and abrasion resistance superior to any other firearm finish on the market – something that Benelli are so confident in that it is backed up with a 25-year warranty.

Other features include a detachable box magazine that blends smoothly with the chassis, top-mounted ambidextrous safety, and a two-piece Picatinny rail system for optic mounting.
