Viking Arms (Ruger’s UK distributor with over five decades of experience in the industry) have announced the much-anticipated UK launch of the Ruger American Rifle Generation II.
The Generation II marks a significant update to the iconic American-made Ruger American bolt-action rifle; a rifle renowned for its unparalleled accuracy, durability, and performance for over a decade.
Ruger listened to extensive customer feedback when working on the Generation II, it has been engineered to meet the evolving needs of today’s hunters, competitive shooters and target shooters.
Key Features
- Ranch and Standard Models: It is available in two different models (the Ranch and the Standard) to cater to various hunting and shooting activities,
- Splatter Finished Stock: Provides exceptional grip without being overly sharp or abrasive, enhancing handling and comfort,
- Installed Low Comb: Improves alignment with magnified optics and can be removed for use with low-mounted sights, offering adaptability for different shooting styles,
- Custom Length-of-Pull: Easily adjust the length-of-pull to suit your needs with the custom LoP spacers and a couple of basic hand tools,
- Power BeddingTM: Integral bedding block system positively locates the receiver and free-floats the barrel for outstanding accuracy,
- Ruger Marksman Adjustable TriggerTM: The trigger release is crisp and has an adjustable pull weight from 3 to 5 pounds,
- Intuitive Three-Position Tang Safety: Allows for the rifle to be loaded with the safety engaged and locks the bolt to prevent inadvertent opening, ensuring user safety,
- Oversized Bolt Handle: Ensures positive bolt manipulation, with a 5/16”-24 thread pattern for easy replacement, catering to customisation needs,
- Professionally Applied Cerokote Coating: Covers the barrel, muzzle brake, receiver, and bolt handle, providing a durable and easy-to-maintain finish that stands up to rigorous use.
The Standard Model
The Standard Generation II models feature a durable, Gun Metal Grey Cerakote barrelled action and a dark grey stock that is textured with black and grey splatter for excellent grip and control in the field. The 20 inch barrel has spiral fluting and comes with a muzzle brake.
The Ranch Model
Generation II Ranch models sport a Cobalt Cerakote finish and are fitted to a Flat Dark Earth stock with black splatter texture. This model is lighter and more compact than the Standard thanks to the shorter 16 inch barrel.
