The Longthorne ‘Gloucester’ Model 4005 side-by-side shotgun represents a pinnacle of traditional craftsmanship and precision engineering.
This particular model is available exclusively in 12-gauge, chambered for 3” cartridges, and proofed for ‘High Performance Steel’ up to ½ choke if fitted with multi-chokes. Its 30” barrels feature exquisite ‘Renaissance’ style engraving.
The ‘Gloucester’ showcases a true sidelock action meticulously engraved with a ‘Renaissance’ design, highlighting pin-less sidelocks with gold inlayed game birds and flowers. Additionally, it is equipped with an auto-safe mechanism and a gold-plated trigger, emphasising attention to detail and quality.
The standard forend metalwork exhibits the same ‘Renaissance’ style engraving, complete with a push-button release and a standard splinter forend, enhancing both functionality and aesthetics. Complementing this, the extended full-length beaded trigger guard and top lever feature elegant ‘Renaissance’ style engraving, accentuating the gun’s overall visual appeal.
Offering tailored precision, the stock is made-to-measure and can be semi-pistol grip or pistol grip, and also made for left-handed shooters. Crafted from exhibition-grade walnut, it is fitted with a bespoke horn or ebony pad and a ‘Renaissance’ style engraved skeleton metal framework, with an option for a personalised silver stock oval with initials.
The ‘Gloucester’ Model 4005 is presented in a Malton bridle leather gun slip or an ABS case if exported, reflecting Longthorne’s commitment to excellence in presentation and protection. Entirely manufactured and built at Longthorne’s Northampton factory in England, this shotgun incorporates patented barrel technology, featuring seamless construction from a single piece of steel without soldered joints. Additionally, it’s proofed for ‘High Performance Steel,’ delivering low recoil and reduced muzzle flip for a superior shooting experience.
