AYA Nº 1 de Luxe
The AYA Nº 1 ‘de Luxe’ side-by-side shotgun stands as the pinnacle of AYA’s craft, steeped in tradition and classic styling. Originating in the 1950s, this esteemed side-by-side possesses all the characteristics of a premium English game gun.
Exclusively distributed in the UK by Anglo Spanish Imports (A.S.I), this meticulously hand-crafted double-trigger sidelock is expressly tailored for British sensibilities, offering a compelling alternative to its London-made counterparts.
Weighing approximately 6¾lb, AYA’s Nº 1 takes inspiration from the revered Holland & Holland design, featuring detachable locks, an articulated front trigger, and an optional self-opener. The gun is adorned with timeless Purdey-style rose-and-scroll engraving and is furnished with top-grade walnut.
The double-trigger sidelock is equipped with fixed-choke 28 inch chopper lump barrels as standard, although other lengths can be custom-ordered.
For those seeking an extra touch of opulence, the ‘de Luxe’ variant boasts exhibition-grade walnut and striking foliate scroll engraving, reminiscent of Holland & Holland’s iconic style. Hand-engraved and finished by British craftsmen in England, the Nº 1 ‘de Luxe’ is widely acclaimed as one of the most visually appealing shotguns available today, regardless of price.
This side-by-side hammerless sidelock shotgun features a forged steel action with a double locking mechanism and gas vents, ensuring reliable performance. It incorporates hardened steel intercepting safety sears, along with gold-washed internal lock parts and gold-lined cocking indicators for added refinement.
The Nº 1 offers the option of a double trigger with a hinged front trigger, or a selective or non-selective single trigger. Its rib is gently concave, contributing to its distinctive profile.
The finely chequered and oil-finished walnut stock, crafted in a special wood grade, exhibits a straight hand design, reflecting both practicality and elegance. The gun is enriched with bold foliate engraving, a testament to the best of English gunmaking.
Further personalisation is possible with an initial oval, and the firearm includes an automatic safety feature. The action is finished in an old silver hue, adding a touch of vintage charm.
The Nº 1 is available in various bores, including 12, 16, 20, 28, and .410, ensuring a fitting choice for shooters with diverse preferences.
