The eagerly anticipated Pulsar Merger LRF XP50 thermal imaging binoculars have arrived. They are styled in a classic binocular design and offer astonishing levels of thermal detail, an impressive detection range, advanced image processing algorithms, a built-in precision laser rangefinder, and an HD AMOLED display.
Powerful Optics for Incredible Detail
Combining an extremely sensitive 640×480, 17 µm, <25mK NETD thermal sensor with an incredibly powerful 50mm f1.0 fast aperture germanium lens, the Pulsar Merger LRF XP50 thermal binoculars are able to offer stunning levels of thermal detail. They can accurately identify standard 1.8 metre tall human or deer shaped objects and their anatomical features (along with minute details of the surrounding environment) at distances of up to 1800 metres, with minimal temperature differences detected in adverse conditions such as heavy rain, dense fog, or instances where thermal contrast is low. This detailed thermal imagery is presented onto a 1024×768 HD AMOLED display, ensuring a fluid, flawlessly high-definition picture.
For significantly increased detailing and sharpness when observing an object, these thermal binoculars incorporate Pulsar’s proprietary advanced image processing algorithms which allow for greater identification capabilities, revealing small object details such as branches, leaves, wires, and even an animal’s extremities in environments with minimal temperature differences.
The Pulsar Merger LRF XP50 has a variable magnification of 2.5x – 20x, and a digital zoom of up to 8x, and will provide improved focus and object recognition at significant distances. The digital zoom can either be adjusted gradually in 2x steps or continuously for an optimum, customised field of view for different situations.
Accurate Distance Measurements
Understanding the distance between you and the target is an essential factor when it comes to decision-making whilst out in the field, which is why these binoculars feature an integrated precision laser rangefinder. Blending seamlessly into the binocular’s design this rangefinder will provide a measuring distance of up to 1000m ± 1m, offered in single measurements or continuous scanning modes for fast, error-free assessments.
A Sense of the Familiar
The Merger LRF XP50 retains the classic aesthetics of a standard daytime pair of binoculars. They will feel familiar in-hand as any pair of regular binoculars that you have used before; the ergonomic small form factor construction will offer a consistently comfortable viewing experience and reduce the fatigue you may otherwise feel during long periods of observation. The six buttons on the device are arranged conveniently on top to allow for quick and comfortable control over all of the digital functions.
When receiving visual information through two separate channels simultaneously eye strain can be experienced. The Pulsar Merger LRF XP50 features an adjustable interpupillary distance of 56-71mm to not only reduce this strain but to also provide greater performance than a single-channel thermal monocular in low contrast scenarios.
Withstands the Elements
Thanks to the magnesium alloy housing these thermal binoculars are incredibly lightweight and robust. This housing can withstand shocks, drops, moisture, heat, and cold, whilst also working as a heatsink to effectively dissipate any warmth caused by the internal components. This, therefore, increases the consistency of operation over longer periods of observation.
Furthermore, they have even been designed to operate within a wide range of temperatures without issue, with the housing, power unit, optics, and electronics remaining flawlessly operational in temperatures from -25 to +50°C.
The icing on the cake when it comes to durability is the IPX7 waterproof rating. This rating means the Merger can be used come rain or shine, or any other condition mother nature throws at you. They can even be immersed in water at a depth of up to 1 metre for 30 minutes.
Enhanced Observation
The Merger’s effectiveness can be increased whilst observing the field of view through the choice of eight colour palettes. These palettes will optimise the device in specific scenarios and adapt to changing conditions — White Hot, Black Hot, and Red Hot are perfect for object detection; Rainbow and Ultramarine will increase recognition and identification capabilities; and Sepia, Red Monochrome, and Violet are best for long, night-time observation.
Hours Upon Hours of Observation
The Merger LRF XP50 has a dual battery system that consists of one built-in rechargeable 4 Ah battery and one replaceable 3.2 Ah battery. The combined battery life is 10 hours on a single charge, however you can use just one battery system at a time. The embossed design found on the replaceable battery’s body will allow you to position and replace the battery quickly even in total darkness.
Capture Your Favourite Moments
With a built-in still image and video recorder, integrated Wi-Fi module, and Stream Vision 2 compatibility, the Merger LRF XP50 will capture every memorable moment. The device comes with 16GB of internal memory to store videos and photos, and it also comes with 16GB of cloud storage (available on the Stream Vision App) for free.
Connecting the device to the Stream Vision 2 app opens up several additional functionalities, including image and video sharing, remote control of the device, firmware updates, and much more.
The built-in dual-band Wi-Fi module achieves improved connectivity across its 2.4/5 GHz waveband support. The standard 2.4GHz Wi-Fi channel required to connect to a smartphone is complemented by a 5GHz connection to offer better bandwidth, faster data transfer rates, noise immunity, and improved connection stability, providing a more productive, easy operation when connected to a smartphone or tablet.
